It's very easy to sign up for this service. All you need to do is visit the register page and fill out the form. You will need an email to confirm your account as well as a valid credit card.
Your password can be changed in your dashboard by going into your profile and entering your current password as well as the new one. If you forgot your password, simply click here to request for a password change.
You can request an account wipe through our email address. We always try to reply as soon as possible.

BASICS

An asset is the host or target that Security Guardian will scan. It could be your web server, mailing server, router, etc. These assets must be accessible from the internet or, in other orders, have a public IP address or domain name and be reachable.
Adding an asset is quite simple. To do so, go to your assets page and click on the "Add an asset" button on the top-left corner of the panel. A menu will appear and prompt you to fill out the required information such as the name and the IP adress or domain name.
Your monthly subscription changes each time you add or remove an asset.
There are two simple ways to delete an asset from your account. The simplest is achieved by selecting the desired asset from the assets list and then selecting the "Delete" option found in the top-right side of the panel.
The other method can be done by visiting the asset's page, scrolling down to the information box and clicking on "Edit Asset" and then clicking again on "Delete asset". BE AWARE: ONCE YOU DELETE AN ASSET, ALL THE INFORMATION IS WIPED AND UNRECOVERABLE. Your monthly subscription will be automatically modified for you.
An asset group is a tool used to organize your assets into several groups to fit your liking. We usually advise our users to organize their servers by zone or by function. Asset Groups can also be useful to administrate and scan a large group of assets.
You can add an asset group on the Groups page by clicking on the "Add a Group" button on the top-left corner of the panel. This feature is free of charge.
This feature can be found on an existant group page. Once there, simply click on the top right corner button "Add a range of assets". You will be prompted to a panel containing two inputs. These inputs require you to enter a valid IP range, for example, from 216.239.32.1 to 216.239.32.30 and then click on "Check asset range". Allow for Security Guardian to check the availability of these hosts before you continue.
Once the lookup is done, you can either cancel your operation or add the range. Once the range is added, your new assets will appear on the group page.
You can click on the rightmost icons to either select or unselect the assets you want to add.
To go back in time and see the detailed version of an old report, simply select the date from the button found on the top-right corner of your asset's page panel. A date picker will prompt you to select a date, all the information in the page will automatically update to the date you've selected.
Alternatively you can visit the asset's latest report page and pick another one the same way as stated above.

SCANS

There are two ways to launch a scan. The most common one is to go to your asset page, scroll down until you find the "SCAN NOW" button and click on it. Be aware that all assets are set to be scanned every day at 01:00 AM GMT automatically.
The other way is to head over to your groups page and click on the respective group's scan button to scan all the servers inside of it.
Daily, weekly and monthly scans are launched at 01:00 AM GMT.
To change the frequency of your asset's recurrent scan, simply head over to the asset's respective page and scroll down until you find a panel with your asset's basic information. From there, simply click on "Modify Asset" and pick your prefered schedule. Don't forget to save your modifications!
Upon scanning an asset, Security Guardian launches numerous premade scripts that test your asset against intrusions. The simplest scripts usually send HTTP requests and read the response to gather data. More advanced scripts make use of very specific methods to exploit a widely known vulnerability just like a hacker would do. It then reports the results back to our main server for further analysis. Security Guardian never shares this information with anyone and these scripts simply read the response of your assets to assess whether or not your asset is vulnerable to a vulnerability. Your assets are not at risk!
Your asset risks being slowed down if it runs on slow or outdated hardware. This is why we always scan during the nighttime, to avoid slowing the asset down while most clients are using it.
Oh and... your log files may get surprisingly big after a scan.
Security Guardian mostly uses simple and lightweight HTTP requests. The amount of used brandwith each scan uses is negligable.

PAYMENTS

As you might have noticed already, we follow a very simple subscription-based service. This means that you pay a subscription every month to use Security Guardian uninterrupted. Your subscription is automatically updated once you add or delete an asset from your account. Our prices are based on how many assets you have, as seen here.
Yes, but it depends on how long you keep it on your account. If you delete this asset right after you've added it, then our billing system will only withdrawl a few cents off your next payment. It is important that you always double check the information you put in before adding a new asset to avoid this.

SYSTEM

All your information is stored in our own datacenter in Switzerland. We do not sell, share or give away your personal information or your assets information to anyone.
You can report a problem or a bug by visiting the Bug report / feature suggestion page and filling out the required forms. We always try to respond to these reports as soon as possible.

It is possible that you run into many graphical issues if you're using outdated or unsupported browsers. Here's a list of browsers and the versions that we generally support:

No, Security Guardian does not install anything on your scanned assets. It simply reads each response and analyzes the data to transform it into understandable reports.
You don't have to install anything on your asset or your private computer/phone/tablet either. Security Guardian does everything remotely.
